What makes us different?
The WMA/HEMA Community in Springfield MO is thriving and growing every day. We are one of several HEMA groups/clubs/associations/teams that call this city ,home. We blend the historical element with the modern day elements of HEMA.
We are also an affiliated to the premier Caribbean Antilles HEMA club , "Esgrima Antigua e Histórica Puerto Rico". We are a multiligual all inclusive club with almost two decades of experience. All of our members are also active members of HEMA Alliance. We also keep amicable relationships with our sister organizations : Club Alfa directed by Maese Félix Colón, Filipino Combat Systems Puerto Rico Brotherhood directed by Guro Lacan Carlos "Pipo" López and San Juan Kendo Club directed Sensei Sandy "Sempai"Henriquéz.
Locally we collaborate and participate of various activities of the local HEMA Community and it s Neighboring Clubs/Associations, also organizing informal Gatherings of HEMAists from local clubs and neighboring ones. We also help long distance students with their studies an training.

La Comunidad de WMA/HEMA en Springfield es una en franco crecimiento. Sómos uno de varios grupos activos en la ciudad, todos llamamos a la ciudad de Springfield nuestro hogar. Integramos elmentos modernos e históricos de HEMA en nuestra práctica.
417 HEMA es una afiliada a la primera Asociación de Artes Marciales Históricas Europeas del Caribe Antillano, Esgrima Antigua e Histórica Puerto Rico. Sómos un club políglota e inclusivo con dos décadas de experiencia a su haber. Todos nuestros miembros so además miembros activos de HEMA Alliance. También mantenémos estrecha relación con nuestras organizaciones hermanas en la isla : Club Alfa de Esgrima Antigua dirijido por Maese Félix Colón, Filipino Combat Systems Puerto Rico Brotherhood dirijido por Guro Lacan Carlos "Pipo"López y el Club de Kendo de San Juan bajo la dirección de Sandy Henriquéz Sensei.
Localmente participamos de una variedad de actividades de otros grupos, escuelos y asociaciones locales así como vecinas. También ayudámos a organizar reuniones improvisadas de practicantes locales y de pueblos y ciudades vecinas. Y para nuestros estudiantes a distancias preparámos una seire de recursos para ayudárles con sus estudios y práctica.

Mr. Shanahan completed the required class hours, skills requirements and assignments of the Basic longsword course starting the new course for Intermediate Longsword. En Buena hora Hermann! My Art is more than just a hobby. Each time I take on a Longsword, Sidesword, Rondel, Sword and Buckler etc,, I make sure it aligns with my core set of values so I know I can deliver great results.
